About me

Hello, I’m Ilker Dag.

I was born on a festive night in April 1998, albeit with some difficulties. According to what I’ve been told, I came into the world with jaundice. Until I was six, we lived in Diyarbakir, Elazig, and Edirne. When we returned to our hometown, I started kindergarten and embarked on my educational journey as a child obsessed with the four basic math operations. I had a successful primary school period, during which I was interested in swimming and chess. Then, in middle school, I developed a dream of attending military high school. Although I didn’t pass the entrance exam despite my best efforts, that desire never faded away.

My high school years began at Ataturk Anatolian High School and continued at Ali Galip Calik Anatolian High School and Simya Private High School. Those were wonderful years that gave me unforgettable memories and great friendships. I spent the most enjoyable years of my life during this period and had a brief interest in basketball. I experienced many firsts and lasts, and many things that made me who I am today happened during this time.

After high school, my college preference list was filled entirely with mechanical engineering programs. I was admitted to my 12th choice, the mechanical engineering program at Inonu University. After spending two years in Malatya, I decided to return to my hometown. I transferred to Kahramanmaras Sutcu Imam University, where I am currently continuing my education as a senior student.

Besides being a student, I am currently working as a project engineer at a company that manufactures industrial machinery. Additionally, I work on projects with my friends and professors to gain technical skills. I am also involved in social and technical projects through the IEEE Student Branch’s “Educational Activities” and “Power and Energy Society” committees.

Outside of these, I am interested in additive manufacturing, love rock and indie music, enjoy reading and writing technical content, am passionate about learning, and often end up breaking things at home while trying to fix them. 😂
